Getting closer to the 'final cut' ;-)
Here's where we stand before the credits are appended to the end... http://drop.io/medialiteracyvideo
BTW, the audio didn't work for me while streaming the video - I had to download it from the link to hear the song...
Please take a couple of minutes to preview the video (maybe more than once) and provide your feedback :-)
Be critical - I'd like to implement any necessary changes prior to Wednesday's meeting so that we're ready to post it to YouTube...
Thanks in advance,
Andy

Hi Everyone. Here is version 1 of my video clip. It pertains to digital citizenship. I made it in Photostory because I wanted to be able to pan and zoom, but in the end I had to get rid of all the panning and zooming because I had to many images to keep it down to 15 seconds. I will try and redo it in Movie Makers unless I get permission to make it longer. Please provide any feedback to me I would really appreciate it if you have any suggestions.
Page of references - coming soon

Roz - I love it! For your first movie, you've outdone yourself...
My 2 cents: I think you've got a lot packed in there - what you've pared it down to still deserves at least twice as much time as you've allocated.
While the words on each image are effective, I find that they really require the viewer's attention, which takes away from the impact of the pictures themselves.
I found I got the most out of your video when I paused it on each image to really absorb the messages & I'm not sure that everyone will take that time...
I'd suggest either going with just a couple of pictures and really letting them sink in, or omitting the words from some of the images.
For what it's worth, I've been struggling big time with coming up with a 'storyboard' for this video.
With each of us creating little snippets, I think it's imperative that we have a unifying theme.
All I've been able to come up with so far is to launch into the video with the question 'What is Media Literacy?'
From there, I think we could parse out each of the six aspects that the Media Awareness Network has identified:
- accessing information
- consuming information
- evaluating information
- creating information
- repurposing information
- distributing information
We could plug each of the 15s (or so...) chunks into different sections of the video and make 'em all fit with a little massaging...
Here's an example of what I've been playing around with - but I should say up front that I really don't know if it works ;-)
Looking forward to hammering out more of the details on Thursday with all of you :-)
Andy
BTW, I should add that: 1) I know the music sucks, 2) the 'chunks' are missing, which changes the whole feel of this template, and 3) even if we go with this format, we'd need to tie it all together at the end with something that's currently missing...
Also, I found it funny that Roz and I had come up with one of the same storm-trooper pics ;-) Of all the content that's available online...
[Comment by Roz: Hey Andy, Thank you for the feedback. I am still working on video to make it easier to read and to say what I want it to say. I like the template you have created, it is simple and it gives and overall feel to the video, which you are so right that we need. I agree about getting new music. :) Is there a spot where we can include digital citizenship in all of this? That is what my video is about, being a digital citizen and the choices we make.]

Here is my contribution:I find the 15 seconds impossible to adhere to :)
It is 22.9 seconds long and I would welcome all feedback. How can I cut back?
[Comment by Roz: Hey John, the video looks good the way it is. I do not have advice on how to cut down on time as I am struggling with that myself! :)]
Roz Says:
I redid my video in MovieMaker but now it is longer!!!! Thank you for the suggestions Andy. I really did remove one image... but then replaced it with another! I will have to edit again. Here is version 2 and it is 22 seconds and it is still hard to read. Argg!! Also, I do not like MovieMaker as much as Photostory. I need to get rid of flying text and pictures that fade before the text fades. Also in Photostory you can crop your pictures. Next version will be in photostory again, unless I can get my hands on a Mac and then I will use iMovie.
Roz Says:
Here is the latest done in Photostory. I am hoping that someone can help me cut it back to become 15 seconds because I am having trouble making the cuts needed.
